Job summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic Band 4 RehabilitationAssistant to join our team. This role involves providing individual and grouptherapy activities under the supervision of qualified therapists, coordinatingour therapeutic leisure services, and assisting the Clinical Team with specifictasks following appropriate training.

The successful candidate will support service users or theircaregivers in managing long-term neurological conditions. They will create,facilitate, and develop a stimulating and engaging programme of activities thatpromote self-management, healthy adjustment to diagnosis, and independencethrough various one-on-one and group-based interventions. The role willencourage participants to develop their skills and self-confidence whilemanaging their mental health and wellbeing in a supportive environment.

As well as hands-on treatment delivering treatment sessionson a one-to-one and in groups supported by a team of experienced therapy staff,the post holder will also support therapists in administrative duties, datacollection, and equipment checks, and work in collaboration with all othermembers of the wider team, as appropriate.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Toprovide individual and group therapy activities under the supervision ofqualified therapists.

Toplan, organise, set up and monitor 1:1 and group activities with supervision accordingto members needs

Towork directly with members in providing high-quality service delivery, usingappropriate planning, and monitoring tools to achieve the aims and goalsidentified in their therapeutic plans.

Toassist members of the Clinical Team in carrying out specific activitiesfollowing appropriate training.

Tosupport members of the Clinical Team in administrative, organisational andcleaning duties.

To co-ordinate the TherapeuticLeisure programme run at CNC with support from the Clinicians and volunteersandinvolve members in planning ensuring they remain at the centre of decisionmaking.

Torecognise signs of changing physical and mental health, and to initiateappropriate interventions to prevent a crisis.

Maintaina portfolio of information, including the range of activities available on siteand within the local community for members to access.

Co-ordinate a small budget with support from line manager.

Liaisewith fundraising and communications team where appropriate to support events.

Toassist in co-ordinating the volunteers rota for groups and work with CNCManager and Volunteer Co-ordinator on identifying any training needs to carryout volunteer role.

Toco-ordinate and deliver the established educational programme for Carer memberswith the support of the Family Support andVolunteer Co-ordinator.To,occasionally, provide 1-1 support for Carer members in conjunction with the Family Support and Volunteer Co-ordinator.

To understand the importance of the non-clinical teams within the charity and support these departments where necessary. Education & Professional Development To develop and maintain personal, clinical and managerial skills through supervision and personal development plan agreed with your Line Manager. To be responsible for, and actively record, own professional development and maintain a continual professional development portfolio. Ensure a good working knowledge of neurological conditions, in line with National and CNC standards To attend any training as requested. To actively participate in an annual performance review (appraisal) and the development and implementation of a personal development plan. To take responsibility for own professional development ensuring professional standards are maintained and statutory and mandatory training is in date. To identify own areas of development and seek support in your own training needs through your line manager.

Qualifications

Essential

Good general education including English and Maths Experience of working in a care setting Knowledge and experience of manual handling Experience of working with professionals in a multidisciplinary setting Experience of coordinating and/or delivering activities and interventions to vulnerable people. Knowledge of risk assessment and risk management Basic administration tasks such as filing, photocopying, record keeping, IT literate Excellent verbal and written communication skills Able to organise self and complete tasks within a time frame Able to recognise own limitations and happy to ask for help Able to motivate and support others in their health choices. Able to nurture and maintain relationships with individuals.
