Job summary

West Mendip Hospital have an exciting opportunity for a Ward Clerk to join their team

This role is for 24 hours per week, on a permanent basis.

You will be responsible for providing administration and clerical assistance to the nursing team to ensure the smooth running of the ward.

Main duties of the job

As a ward clerk you will need to be able to be patient and polite in communications, maintaining a professional approach when interacting with our patients and visitors and all members of the multi professional team.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate within their application form that they possess excellent customer service, administrative and IT skills.

Experience in using RiO and Maxims would be desirable but is not essential, as full training for the role will be given.

Qualifications & Training

Essential

Good general standard of education to GCSE level or equivalent. Excellent IT skills, Microsoft Word, Excel

Knowledge & Experience

Essential

Previous administrative experience and working as part of a team.

Desirable

Knowledge of RiO and Maxims NHS administrative experience
