Job summary

We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated midwife to join our team to inspire and drive changes in maternity and neonatal services for our Derbyshire population. If you are an experienced midwife wanting to make a positive impact of change, we invite you to apply for the post of lead Midwife for Quality and Safety.

Main duties of the job

To identify and support the ICB and other health providers in the development and delivery of maternity and neonatal quality improvement initiatives and share learning across the system to improve practice.

The post holder will define current processes, facilitate discussions, and advise colleagues as to how best practice might be adopted within practice and will assist with quality improvement strategies and the delivery of service changes.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

Educated to masters level or equivalent with senior midwifery experience; Evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development;

Desirable

Numerate and able to understand complex financial issues combined with deep analytical skills; Knowledge of financial systems monitoring budget management, processing invoices and procurement;

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

Evidence of Post-graduate study Extensive knowledge of specialist areas, acquired through post graduate diploma or equivalent experience or training plus further specialist knowledge or experience to master's level equivalent; Registered Midwife with experience of leading teams; Practical knowledge of project principles, techniques and tools, for example Prince 2 Foundation and Microsoft Project; Experience of delivering transformation projects in delivering transformation in the health and social care sectors Experience of working in complex multi-agency environments to build trusting relationships and deliver transformation; Knowledge of the Better Births Five year Forward View for Maternity Services; Knowledge and understanding of communications techniques, approaches and procedures;

Desirable

Project Management qualifications ; Programme Management qualification such as MSP (Foundation level) or equivalent. Numerate and able to understand complex financial issues combined with deep analytical skills;
