Following the release of additional funding, Coventry & Warwickshire Mind is seeking applications from individuals who are keen to train as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) within the NHS Coventry & Warwickshire Talking Therapies Service.

Main duties of the job

In this role, the post holder will be required to attend at least 1 day of teaching, undertake 1 day of self-directed study and provide 3 days of clinical practice per week offering assessment and low intensity treatment to patients presenting with common mental health problems such as depression and anxiety. The post holder will receive appropriate support throughout their training journey.

Following a period of training you will be expected to manage a caseload of patients suffering from low-level mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, stress, and low mood.

Job responsibilities

The post holder will be a trainee psychological wellbeing practitioner within an NHS Talking Therapies Service and once trained will be delivering high volume,low intensity interventions and will assist in improving services for clientswith a range of common mental health disorders, particularly anxiety anddepression, within a stepped care framework that is equitable,non-stigmatising, accessible, responsive to local need and available to peopleaged 16 years and over.

The post holder will be expectedto work with people with different cultural backgrounds, using interpreterswhen necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities.

The post holder will be expectedto undertake professional training in low intensity psychological interventionsalongside the delivery of psychological therapies as part of the Stepped CareModel. Working at Step 2 the postholderwill learn and deliver Step 2 cognitively informed interventions.
