Environment and Sustainability Officer - Join Our Award-Winning Charity

Are you a passionate advocate for the environment, eager to make a real difference in a forward-thinking, award-winning charity? We are excited to announce an exceptional opportunity for a skilled and enthusiastic individual to join our team as the Environment and Sustainability Officer . In this newly created role, you will have the unique chance to spearhead our efforts to become a carbon-neutral organisation, reduce energy consumption, and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations.

As a key member of the Property and Environment Team, you will work in close collaboration with colleagues across the Charity to develop and implement innovative strategies that drive our environmental and sustainability initiatives. We are seeking a dynamic professional with a proven track record in environmental management and a deep commitment to creating a greener future.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead on Environmental initiatives such as energy, waste, carbon reduction, and recycling, and implement actions identified in our carbon net-zero roadmap; Embed sustainability 'best practise' within the Charity and actively work to strengthen management processes and procedures; Introduce an Environmental Management System (EMS) to reduce risks associated with non-compliance and improve environmental practises; and Serve as an advisory and coordination role in the development of all environmental strategies, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations, ensuring they are adhered to, regularly reviewed, updated, and communicated.

Ideal Candidate:

Recognised qualification in sustainability/environmental management or related subject, or relevant experience in the development and delivery of sustainability projects; Great communicator with experience of overseeing multiple projects simultaneously; and Experience in coordinating activities/group sessions and working with a range of stakeholders.
