Job summary

Trafford Extended Service (TES) has a vacancy for an experienced Mental Health Practitioner to work alongside our established Multi-disciplinary team. Trafford Extended Service (TES) provides an assessment and post-diagnostic service to people with Autism Spectrum Conditions (without Learning Disabilities) and an assessment and treatment service for people with Attention Deficit Hyper-Activity Disorder. TES is part of the Manchester Directorate which provides integrated mental health and social care services, community-based and in patient support.

Main duties of the job

Under the line management and clinical leadership from within TES, the post holder will undertake Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) diagnostic assessments and general health and social care needs assessments for clients with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). They will co-ordinate timely and appropriate interventions using the skills of their core profession for a caseload of service users and where appropriate, use the framework of CPA. Assessments and interventions will be carried out in line with relevant clinical pathways as outlined within the TES operational procedure.

Qualifications

Essential

Post-graduate degree in Mental Health Nursing, Social Work or Occupational Therapy

Desirable

Additional qualification or training relevant to the role

Experience

Essential

Experience of care co-ordinating complex service users. Experience of working with people with ASC / ADHD Post registration experience

Desirable

Experience of planning and delivering therapeutic group work

Skills

High level of communication skills

High standard of report writing

Knowledge
