Job Description

As a Workshop Controller, you will be responsible for the smooth and efficient running of the workshop, with a focus on:

  • Identifying training needs for Vehicle Technicians to help improve skillsets.

  • Ensuring high levels of productivity, with an emphasis on timekeeping and hours sold.

  • Providing excellent customer service and maintaining open communication with the Service Department.

  • Maintaining workshop machinery and tools, ensuring a professional and safe working environment.

  • Leading by example in workshop housekeeping, organization, and security.

  • Implementing a "right first time" mentality within your team to drive efficiency.

  • Offering technical support as needed, especially during training or for MOT preparation.

  • Ensuring accurate recording and invoicing through compliance with processes.

You will also play a vital role in building and maintaining a positive and productive team culture that aligns with the values of Curtis Cars.

As a Workshop Controller, you will be instrumental in the smooth and efficient running of the workshop, focusing on training, productivity, and customer satisfaction. You will ensure the highest standards are met and maintained by overseeing key functions, including:

  • Identifying training needs for Vehicle Technicians to enhance skillsets.

  • Ensuring workshop productivity meets targets with an emphasis on time management.

  • Promoting and ensuring excellent customer service.

  • Maintaining and servicing workshop machinery and tools to uphold a professional environment.

  • Instilling a "right first time" approach within the team.

  • Offering technical support when required, including training and MOT preparation.

  • Ensuring accurate recording and invoicing through team compliance with processes.

  • Leading by example in workshop housekeeping and security.

  • Liaising with the Service Department to keep customers informed and address any concerns.

Key Responsibilities

As a vital part of the Aftersales Team, your primary duties will include:

  • Leading the department in alignment with Curtis Cars values to build a responsible and forward-thinking business unit.

  • Communicating clear performance expectations to the Workshop Team and aligning their objectives with the broader business goals.

  • Implementing a robust process to ensure daily targets are visible, monitored, and met.

  • Distributing work based on skill sets and competencies to ensure effective service delivery.

  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation that meet quality standards and legal requirements.

  • Providing the team with direction, training, and knowledge to enable them to excel and grow into specialized roles within the workshop.
