As a DomesticAssistant you would be responsible for maintaining an acceptable standard ofcleanliness in the allocated areas using the correct cleaning methods,frequencies, materials and equipment, cleaning to the National Standards of HealthcareCleanliness 2021. Cleaning is carried out in wards and departments throughoutthe organisation.

Main duties of the job
To carry out all cleaning assigned, making full use ofguidance and training given, using checklists provided.
Provide a beverage service to patients and visitors asrequired.
Ensure all necessary equipment/machinery is fit forpurpose before use and ensure is cleaned and correctly stored after use.
Use all materials and consumables in accordance withlaid down practices.
Collection, segregation and disposal of wastematerials, replacement of liners, in accordance with policies.
Packing, sorting, delivering and collection of linen.
Undertake manual and mechanical cleaning activities inaccordance with the cleaning schedule.
Ensure that all cleaning schedules are completed andchecked on a daily basis.
Refilling of all dispensers including soap, handtowels, toilet rolls and all paper rolls
Provide emergency and ad hoc cleaning as required.
Cleaning in close proximity to patients includingbeds, windows, curtain rails, window ledges, tables and lockers.
Work safely at all times giving due consideration tothemselves and others.
Use the appropriate work equipment and PPE provided,reporting any maintenance, safety deficiencies and incidents to a member of thesupervisory team
Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by management.
Maintaining cleanliness of entrances, work areas and grounds as necessary
