We are currently seeking a mobile Cook to join our team in preparing nutritious meals in our local schools.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the ordering, preparation, cooking and service of meals. Also responsible for the organisation and supervision of staff and to work to a high standard to provide a quality service.
The main duties of the post are:
Preparation and cooking of all food for service in line with The Healthy Eating in Schools Regulations 2013 and to the standards laid down by Management. Working in accordance with agreed schedules, and comply with all Food and Health and Safety Regulations.Setting up of Servery Counter and service of food, practising portion control as per guidelines, also ensuring good food presentation.When applicable, washing up of crockery, cutlery and kitchen utensils, ensuring good Health and Safety Practices.Maintenance of a clean work area by ensuring regular cleaning of all equipment, storerooms and ancillary areas.Organise, supervise and train staff to ensure even distribution of work and quality of service to the Customer. Identify staff and own training needs.Maintenance of stock system, ensuring safekeeping of goods in stock.You will havethe following experience:
A Proven background and experience of working in catering and requirements in relation to preparation and cooking of meals.Experience of working within and having responsibility for implementing current legislative requirements with regard to the kitchen and catering operation.Ideally you will have:
City and Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or equivalent NVQ 2/3 or relevant experienceLevel 3 Award in food safety and catering or equivalent (HACCP)A current driving licence and have access to suitable vehicleIf you think that you have the necessary experience and qualifications for this role, we would love to hear from you.
