Purpose ofthe job

Reporting to the Head ofPricing & Underwriting MultiLines part of a small teamresponsible for managing the underwriting performance of theMultiLines insurance portfolio within Collinsons Insurancebusiness.

Deliver regular performance analysisand policy wording reviews for our key accounts across MultiLineswhich includes Home Emergency Motor Breakdown Gadget ExcessProtection and Warranty products. Provide renewal rate analysis tosupport the profitable growth of the portfolio in accordance withthe Companys strategy and reinsurance agreements. Work proactivelywith all stakeholders including business development accountmanagers finance clients intermediaries and insurers.

KeyResponsibilities

  • Undertake monthly performance reviews of schemes
  • Support Underwriters and Head of Pricing andUnderwriting in scheme reviews and new scheme quotes
  • Assist in regular reviews of scheme documentation(including policy wordings and renewal documents) to improveclarity ensure continued compliance and manage risk effectively andwork with compliance to compile policy wordings endorsementsaddendums as may be required to reflect the cover to be provided bythe policy in line with the pricing interpretation andexpectation
  • Build effective relationships withthe Commercial Account Management team to assist with existingclient relationships and prospects
  • Monitoridentify and implement pricing and risk controls supportingoperational processes developing and executing new ideas to ensurethe business reacts appropriately to performance triggers;identifying documenting tracking and mitigating risks as theyarise.
  • Operate within the agreed underwritingauthority limits set by the Company and in accordance with theunderwriting managing agent agreements with externalinsurers
  • Support the underwriting and pricingrelationship for the line of business with Collinson capacitypartners
  • Check quality of data provided byclients and thirdparty claims administrators.
  • Support other Collinson Insurance lines of business in apeer reviewcapacity

Knowledgeskills and experience required

  • Ideally an insurance background in the Motor and Homeancillary products or the Gadget and Warranty markets
  • Strong numerical background
  • A soundunderstanding of the terminology and calculations used indetermining and controlling insurance risks
  • Previous experience in dealing with business regulated bythe FCA
  • Previous Underwriting/ Pricingexperience would be advantageous
  • CII qualifiedor studying for CII qualifications would be advantageous
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office withexcellent Word and Excel capabilities
  • Exposureto Power BI Emblem and Alteryx or similar toolsadvantageous
