So, what does the role of a New Business Construction Underwriter here involve?
This particular role is within the Construction Division which comprises Contractors Combined Liability, Contractors All Risks, Excess of Loss, Single Project Contractors All Risks and Non Negligent Liability.
Main responsibilities:
Underwriting of new business risks under a variety of delegated binding authorities Develop and maintain a profitable book of business Create and maintain relationships with brokers, insurers and other business partners Provide support to junior members including referralsWhat experience does a New Business Construction Underwriter need?
Ideally CII qualified or working towards Minimum 5 years’ proven underwriting experience in Casualty and Construction lines including Combined Liability, Contractors All Risks and Excess of Loss Proficient with Microsoft office (Outlook, Excel and Word) Knowledge of legal and regulatory Insurance framework Knowledge of underwriting principles and practice Good risk analysis and technical capabilities Proactive approach to securing new business IT Skills: Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point.
