Relief Cook

We're looking for an enthusiastic Cook to work across our Arosfa retirement housing scheme in Bridgend and Saebren retirement housing scheme in RCT.

This is a permanent role, working on a relief basis.

What you'll do

You'll be in a key role where you can make a difference. You'll ensure our tenants are provided with healthy, high quality options for lunch and evening meals. You'll ensure a good standard of hygiene and cleanliness is maintained throughout the kitchen. You'll also be responsible for directing and supervising kitchen staff and ensuring they are also aware of their responsibilities with regard to food hygiene and preparation.

What you'll need

To be successful in this role you'll need to have the skills and knowledge to communicate clearly and provide a first class service to tenants. You'll need to have a food hygiene certificate and catering experience based in a professional setting. You'll be well organised and have the ability to work with your own initiative to meet deadlines, which may be under pressure.

Where you will be working

Arosfa retirement home, based in Bridgend is a modern centrally heated building situated in Brackla. It has ten self-contained studio apartments which are available to rent by single persons over the age of 55. 

Saebren is a modern centrally heated building situated in Treherbert. It has ten self-contained studio apartments which are available to rent by single persons over the age of 55.

Both Arosfa and Saebren are not residential homes and residents live independently in their own flat, with access to a communal lounge/dining room, launderette and gardens.
