About the role

Connex Education are currently working closely with a large academy based in the heart of Mansfield, who are looking for a qualified humanities teacher to join the team from September 2024. The role will be to teach history and/or religious studies to KS3 and KS4 groups.

About the school

The school in question is based in an ideal location whether you are travelling via car or public transport. As a part of a wider trust of schools, you will be offered extensive development opportunities and be able to access further vacancies and the possibility of permanent placements.

Assignment details

The humanities teaching post is to start from the new academic year; and you will be required until December as a minimum. Within the role you will be working Monday to Friday, Full time (8am-3.30pm). This will be a full teaching role meaning you will have planning and marking responsibilities, with relevant PPA time factoring into your timetable.

Person Specification

  • Hold qualified teaching status
  • Have suitable, UK teaching experience
  • Hold good subject knowledge within history and / or Religious education
  • Able to work with students of varied abilities up to KS4
  • Can commit to a long term placement until July 2024 as a minimum
  • Reliable and consistent
  • Capable of your ability to work with challenging behaviour
  • Able to work under pressure effectively and ‘think on your feet’
  • Passionate about the success of young people and supporting the local community
  • Ambitious and enthusiastic with a ‘can do attitude’ and good sense of humour
