About the Role
The Centre for Experimental Medicine & Rheumatology opened in May 2007 and is led by Professor Costantino Pitzalis. You will join a 60 strong research team of scientists and clinicians dedicated to understanding the disease pathogenesis and improve the treatment of several musculoskeletal diseases including Rheumatoid Arthritis, Sjogren’s syndrome and Osteoarthritis at the Centre for Experimental Medicine & Rheumatology (EMR).
About You
The Study Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating activities relating to a portfolio of Rheumatology/Musculoskeletal studies. This is a 70:30 split role:
30% at the Centre for Experimental Medicine & Rheumatology (EMR), William Harvey Research Institute, Queen Mary University of London, Charterhouse Square the post-holder will be responsible for central coordination and governance activities such as protocol development, submissions to Ethics Committees/HRA, database development, monitoring on a number of QMUL/Barts health Sponsored studies. 70% at Barts Arthritis Centre, Mile End Hospital, Barts Health NHST Trust, the post-holder will oversee the execution of studies, patient recruitment and study delivery. The post-holder will support a portfolio of both academic and commercial hosted clinical trials of investigational medicinal products (CTIMPs) and non-CTIMPs. The post-holder will help manage a team of Clinical Trial Practitioners in activities such as identifying patients suitable for entry into clinical trials, organising patient assessments and visits, coordinating collection and preparation of biological samples, and supporting patients throughout the delivery of their care on clinical trials. 0versee their administrative responsibilities including data entry, maintenance of patient records and creating and maintain Investigator Site Files. Please note: this part of the role will be based on site at Mile End Hospital.About the Centre
EMR is part of the newly awarded Biomedical Research Centre (BRC). The Centre is located at the Charterhouse square campus in the heart of the City of London in close proximity to the Barbican Arts and Music Centre.
