You will be an integral partof Geoquips ability to service our many clients technical needs andbecome actively involved in progressing the Engineering and ProjectManagement Departments capabilities.

In thisposition you will report to the Project Engineer/ProjectManageroverseeing the planning and management of the geotechnicalaspects of offshore wind farm site investigations. The role will besplit between offshore site supervision work on one of our manyvessels spread across the globe and deskbased reporting work in ourfantastic office situated in the heart of Central Bristol UK.Offshore you will be responsible for the collection interrogationand quality assurance of the soils data and testing resultscollected at the locations explored by our drilling and seabedrigs. Onshore you will form part of a team specifying schedulingprocuring monitoring and interpreting complex laboratory testingcampaigns combined with detailed interpretation and resultingparameterisation of insitu testing data ultimately leading to thedelivery of final reporting to satisfy our many offshore renewablesclients.

Progression within Geoquip GeotechnicalDepartment is available for the right candidates either within atechnical role or developing into more Project Management role whensufficient experience is gained. The choice is yours and we willsupport you in every way possible.

Functions andduties

The duties assigned to theGeotechnical Engineer are varied but willinclude:

  • Offshore logging andlaboratory testing
  • Quality control andprocessing of in situ testing
  • Production ofborehole logs
  • Specification of laboratorytesting schedules
  • Quality assurance oflaboratory tests
  • Parameter derivation fromlaboratory test and in situ data
  • Generation ofdesign soil profiles
  • Creation ofpremobilisation reports and postfieldworksreports
  • Participate in any health and safetytalks meetings or training
  • Responsible for thequality of service to internal and external clients includinginterested parties
  • Any other duties deemednecessary which are within the bounds of the incumbents competenceandfunction.

Qualificationsand Experience
Recognised qualification(s)in Civil Engineering or EngineeringGeology
