Support Teaching Assistant

Location: Scunthorpe

Salary Scale: £85 - £100

Status: Full Time, Permanent

About the Role:      

GSL Education are currently seeking to appoint a qualified and enthusiastic Support Teaching Assistant for school to undertake a position at one of our client schools inScunthorpe. In schools, teaching assistants support instructors and students in a variety of ways, facilitate learning, and encourage academic success and personal growth in a range of subjects and activities. Role of a Teaching Assistance:
  • Teaching Assistance assists teachers in preparing and organizing the classroom for lessons. They help set up learning materials, equipment, and resources needed for various activities, ensuring a conducive environment for teaching and learning.
  • Teaching Assistance works with small groups of students or individual students who need additional help or guidance.
  • Teaching Assistances may assist in administering assessments and recording student progress. They help teachers collect data, monitor student performance, and provide feedback on assignments and activities, contributing to the assessment process and informing instructional planning. 
  • Teaching Assistances may assist in organizing and supervising extracurricular activities, educational outings, and enrichment programs. They support the delivery of a broad and balanced curriculum, promoting students' interests and engagement in learning beyond the classroom.
The successful candidate will:
  • Have previous experience working as a Teaching Assistance within an educational setting.
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Demonstrate empathy, patience, and resilience when working with students facing academic or behavioral challenges.
  • Hold relevant qualifications or training in education, childcare, or a related field.
  • Are passionate about supporting the learning and development of student and making a positive difference in their lives.
