Job summary

We have an excitingopportunity for a Salaried GP to join our enthusiastic, friendly and hardworking team at Horncastle Medical Group. We are looking for a Salaried GP towork 6 sessions per week.

We are a TrainingPractice with circa 10,100 patients registered. We are located in the markettown of Horncastle, with a notable Grammar school in the area.

We pride ourselveson providing high quality care and would like the post holder to be anenthusiastic and forward-thinking clinician who has a passion for GeneralPractice and provides exceptional levels of care.

Main duties of the job

To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision ofmedical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standardof clinical care whilst complying with the GMS contract.

Furthermore, thepost-holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice,contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaininga positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.

About us

The post holder will manage a case load and join our clinical team consisting of:

3x Partners, 2 x Salaried GP's, 1 x Advanced Nurse Practitioner, 1 x Older Adults Nurse, 1x Physiotherapist, 3 x Practice Nurses, 1x Trainee ACP, 1x Clinical Pharmacist, 2x HCA's and 2x Nursing Associates and several PCN staff including OT, 2x Pharmacy technicians, Paramedic and Care Coordinator and a Mental Health Nurse.

We are also a Dispensing Practice with a dedicated Dispensary team.

Job responsibilities

The following are the core responsibilities of the salaried GP. Theremay be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will bedependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:

The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population

The provision of services commensurate with the GMS contract

Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance

Effective management of long-term conditions

Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals,repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks

On a rotational basis, undertake triage and Late worker roles

Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice,policy and guidance

Working collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practiceworkload

Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and theaudit process

Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvementand quality initiatives within the practice

Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) or theQOF

Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required

Contribute effective to the development and maintenance of the practiceincluding; clinical governance and training

Ensure compliance with the appraisal process

Prepare and complete the revalidation process

Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professionaldevelopment across the practice team

Support the training of medical students from all clinical disciplines

Review and adhere to practice protocols and policies at all times

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

Qualified GP MRCGP Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP General Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of Training CCT)

Experience

Essential

Experience of working in a primary care environment Experience of continued professional development General understanding of the GMS contract

Desirable

Experience of QOF and clinical audit Experience of medicines management
