To book your space please email style="font-size: 12pt;"> About us;We have made a significant investment in developing our own children’s homes for Looked after Children who may require support with their social, emotional and behavioural needs, and we opening our first home in the very near future. Having our own children’s homes will allow our children and young people the opportunity to remain living in their home city, ensuring that they can maintain relationships with family and friends and avoid unnecessary disruption in education/training.You will be based within the children’s home (location given at Interview) and will work in a close knit team with support from your Deputy Managers and Team Manager.The home is open 365 days per year and Residential workers work a shift pattern that includes an early shift, lates, weekends, sleep-ins and waking night shifts. In additional to your annual salary, you will receive a shift allowance for unsociable hours and weekend working.Responsibilities:Develop positive relationships with children and young people, and create a therapeutic environment where children and young people feel safe and cared forContribute to the daily functioning of the home, so that children and young people's needs are met including support around education, health and well-beingHelp children and young people understand and process their life experiencesFollow policies and procedures and work with partner agencies to safeguard children and young peopleHelp children and young people understand their strengths and qualities and encourage them to have strong aspirations for their future.What You’ll Need…Degree in Psychology or Diploma in Social Work / CSS / CQSW / NVQ Level 3/4 Care / Level 3 Caring for Children and Young People/ Level 3 Diploma for Residential care / Level 3 Children & workforce Diploma with social care pathway or willingness to work towards Level 3/4 qualification in residential childcare.Evidence of continued professional / personal developmentExperience of direct work with young people with social, emotional and/or behavioural difficultiesSubstantial experience of working with young peopleAn ability to work responsively to the needs of children, families, other professionals and external agenciesTo be able to participate fully in physical intervention techniquesTo demonstrate commitment to challenge poor practice and/or any obstacles to providing a quality service* All of the above must be evidenced and demonstrated in your application along with all other essential criteria *Benefits you will receive includes…27 days annual leave, plus 8 additional days for bank holidaysShift allowance for unsociable hours and weekend workAn in-depth induction and training packageMonthly SupervisionPrevious applicants need not applyInterviews will take place week commencing 6th May - date 23/04/2024
