Job Title: SEMH Tutor
Location: Rotherham (S61)
Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are looking for a dedicated SEMH Tutor to join in Rotherham. This is an incredible opportunity to support students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs in their academic journey and help them achieve their full potential.

About the Role:

As an SEMH Tutor, you will play a vital role in enhancing students’ understanding and mastery of specific subjects by providing personalised instruction and support tailored to their individual learning needs. Your role will involve providing targeted instruction in core subjects and offering guidance to help build confidence and skills. Your role will also involve preparing teaching materials, assisting with homework, and fostering a positive and encouraging learning environment.

Responsibilities of SEMH Tutor:

  • Provide personalised tutoring sessions to students with SEMH needs in various subjects.
  • Develop and implement tailored learning plans based on individual student needs.
  • Monitor and assess students’ progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Assist with homework and exam preparation.
  • Create a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers and parents to ensure comprehensive support for students.
  • Prepare and organise teaching materials and resources.

Requirements of SEMH Tutor:

  • Previous experience as a Tutor or in a similar educational role.
  • In-depth understanding of the subject areas you will be tutoring, including strategies to adapt content for students with SEMH needs and support their engagement and comprehension.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A genuine passion for education and helping students succeed.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education or tutoring are desirable.
