Day to Day  

Preparation of Monthly Sales Invoices to the customer  Assisting with Ledger Account reconciliations aligned to the Management Accounts.  Supporting the Finance Manager to ensure revenues and costs are captured and allocated accurately.  Undertake nominal ledger tasks including processing journals, nominal ledger cross charges and period end reconciliations. Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders. Reporting and monitoring of KPIs and non-financial information to support service delivery and contractual commitments.  Assisting the Finance Manager with balance sheet preparation including robust reconciliations to support balances. Completion of monthly payroll reconciliations. Completion of regular large operational reconciliations.  Supporting the Finance Managers with responsibilities across the wider Defence business.

What will you bring?  

Studying towards the AAT/CIMA/ACCA qualification.  Experience of working with a finance software package or ERP package.  Transport/Logistics Industry experience preferred but not essential. Ability to communicate effectively and build relationships at various levels.  Work to a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail and promote healthy and robust financial controls. Be able to work under pressure whilst maintaining high standards. Be flexible and respond quickly and positively to internal and external stakeholder requests. Have excellent IT skills and be able to understand and harness various systems to benefit the operation. Have commitment, passion and a progressive attitude for achievement.
