Job overview

The new consultant is required to join the WW -Stroke Thrombectomy cover /Horton group of Anaesthetists. The positions would suit anaesthetists seeking to have a consultant career in a major teaching hospital with considerable expertise in major emergency surgery and high volume low complexity daycase procedures.

The department is proud of its reputation for having a friendly, diverse and inclusive Anaesthetics team, supported by outstanding surgical colleagues. The department provides a comprehensive elective and emergency service for a wide range of surgical specialties.

Main duties of the job

The focus of this post is the delivery of high-quality anaesthesia at The John Radcliffe and West Wing sites. In addition, there are flexible sessions in the posts allowing the post-holder to maintain an interest and skills in other areas of anaesthesia. Out of hours the post-holder will be resident / non-resident on call to provide emergency cover for stroke thrombectomy cover initially.
