The Senior Electrical Engineer isresponsible for the planning design and development of electricaltest fixtures that are used in the development and manufacture ofelectrical medical products. The Senior Electrical Engineer must bea selfstarter showing initiative to solve technical problems andmay operate with moderate direct supervision.

Responsibilities:

Contribute to the design & development ofnew products engineering test equipment & manufacturingfixtures. Participate in the productdevelopment cycle providing input on design for manufacturabilitydesign for testability electrical best practices etc.Design develop and test electrical test fixtures to beused in engineering and production. Verify theoperation of test fixtures developed in engineering andrepurpose/transition them for use in manufacturing.Conduct feasibility studies determine manpower and costestimates and develop engineering criteria that must be evaluatedin manufacturing. May prepare projectdevelopment timelines and status reports for manufacturingengineering tasks in compliance with corporate and divisionaldesign control requirements. Integrate testand deploy new electromechanical test systems inmanufacturing. Participate in transferringproducts from engineering to manufacturing by monitoring &analyzing pilot production runs Prepareverification and validation documentation as required. Schedule andsupervise the verification and validation of the performance oftest equipment after deployment. Schedule andperform fixture maintenance repair computer upgrades etc asrequired Develop & update test andmanufacturing procedures in compliance with corporate anddivisional design and manufacturing controlrequirements. Provide technical direction totechnicians and production associates as needed.Schedule and install test/manufacturing fixtures atoffsite vendor facilities TrainManufacturing/vendor personnel on the use of new testequipment/procedures Support the process ofcontinual process improvements Participate insustaining engineering efforts and communicate manufacturing issuesto engineering. Use computerassistedengineering and design software such as LabVIEW Mentor Graphics andMATLAB and equipment to perform assignments.Use electrical test equipment such as OscilloscopesFunction Generators Spectrum Analyzers etc to debug problem withtest and production equipment

Qualifications:

  • A capable Senior Electrical Engineer with 10years experience in design and development of electrical hardwareused in commercial/medical products.
  • Knowledgeof a specialized nature within the field such as Digital/Analogcircuit design LabVIEW microprocessor firmware and/or FPGAdevelopment.
  • Ability to analyze sophisticatedtechnical problems to determine an appropriate course of action toresolve issues and develop novel solutions
  • Curious to learn new techniques and keep up with thecurrent state of the art in electrical development. Have the driveto leverage new techniques as part of the effort of continualimprovement of existing processes and procedures to increaseproductivity and reduce overhead.
  • Comprehensive organization and analyticalskills
  • Problem Solving:Responsibilities are complex requiring originality and judgment toidentify and analyze problems establish objectives and to evaluateprograms. Decisions involve solutions or varied courses of actionbased on limited information or consultation with colleagues orsupervisors.
