Overview of role

Location: Bradford


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Technician to join our Engineering team. The successful candidate will report to the Maintenance Manager and will be the main liaison between engineering and other departments on site to ensure jobs are completed in a timely manner and support is given to those teams to ensure plants and equipment maintain an optimum performance. You will liaise with the maintenance planner on the daily workload of the shift team to ensure priorities. You will ensure an in-depth handover is provided to oncoming shifts to allow a smooth transition.

Key Accountabilities

•    Liaise with production to ensure that shift engineering workload is prioritised correctly to meet
•     our customer requirements.
•    Lead by example and engage others to think and behave safely at all times, challenge behaviours. 
•    Analyse plant performance and Spidex data to drill down into repeat plant issues identifying the root cause and implementing a “100-year fix” to eliminate the problem.
•    Create and implement plant improvement action plans to resolve any engineering issues in a timely manner.
•    Coordinate with the engineering planner to create work plans for the weekly plant shutdowns, manage the day-to-day engineering activities on the plant ensuring all work is completed on time and to the required engineering standards.
•    Support minor projects around the site, aiding with contractor control, annual overhaul planning and equipment upgrades.
 

The Right Person

•    Maintenance experience, ideally in an FMCG or similar industry and ideally have experience in using Mitsubishi PLCs.  
•    A mechanical engineering background with a good working knowledge of various engineering disciplines. 
•    Served a recognised craft level apprenticeship and excellent control / electrical / mechanical skills are essential to this role.
•    Experience of managing site projects is desirable
•    Experience of managing contractors and be familiar with contractor control is desirable
•    It is essential that you are a team player and are able to integrate into a fast-paced, high-pressure results driven environment.
