Job Description

The jig and tool development department (TEF2) is responsible for ensuring that our associates are provided with the necessary tools and fixtures in order to manufacture products in a reliable and repeatable manner whilst ensuring that all Ergonomic and Health and Safety requirements are adhered to. In addition we also provide technical support in the day to day fault finding and problem solving processes within the manufacturing environment. 

In this role, you will be responsible for:

 Conduct ERGO analysis for manufacturing processes and maintain them such that they are capable according to Bosch standards. Cooperating with other department team members in the completion of torque testing. Cooperating with Development to ensure on time delivery based on requirements of Manufacturing Department Cooperating with Jig and Tool design as required in order to ensure on time delivery based on requirements of the Manufacturing Department. On site development of layout to improve production processes and facilities. Partcipation in Continuous Improvement Process via periodical shop-floor based workshops for quality, cost and delivery performances. Participation in cost reduction due to process and product improvements. Reduction in manufacturing lead time and inventory whilst increasing flexibility. Supporting Bosch Production System (BPS) in the implementation of continuous improvement of the core business processes. From incoming orders through order fulfillment and all supporting processes to the delivery of the right product at the right time. Supporting Engineering Department in the industrialisation of new products and processes. Supporting onsite functions (Manufacturing, Engineering and Facilities Management) to ensure that existing processes remain reliable in order to provide capable production. Other duties as they arise in the efficient maintenance of the systems within the Technical Engineering Functions department Acting responsibly and pro-actively to ensure Safe and Environmentally friendly processes and workspaces according to Health and Safety regulations and internal Environmental Protection policies. 

Qualifications

Our ideal candidate must have:

Qualified fabrication/welding engineer (Level 4 as a minimum). Engineering knowledge on manufacturing/ assembly processes such as joining techniques, stamping process, copper pipe production, machining etc. Experience in the use of CAD.

Our ideal candidate should have:

Industrial Engineering toolset preferred but not essential. Experience in common problem solving methodologies 8D, Ishikawa, 5xWhys. Experience in the application of Lean manufacturing techniques Pull system, Just-in-time, waste elimination. Capable of working in teams. Cross functional collaboration. Excellent communication skills. Ability to work to work under pressure to achieve deadlines. Ability to work under their own initiative and make decisions to the benefit of the business. Flexibility to meet the demands of a changing business.
