Ideal Recruit are currently looking for Warehouse Team Leaders on behalf of our client in the Barnsley area. You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, ensuring efficient and accurate handling of goods, maintaining inventory levels, and leading a team of warehouse staff. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all warehouse activities, including but not limited to shipping, receiving, inventory control, and storage.
  • Supervise and lead a team of warehouse staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high levels of performance and productivity.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels, conduct regular stock checks, and implement efficient inventory management practices.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies to create a safe working environment for all warehouse employees.
  • Coordinate with other departments to fulfil orders, resolve issues, and maintain seamless communication and workflow.
  • Implement and improve warehouse procedures to optimize efficiency, reduce errors, and enhance overall operations.
  • Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) or other relevant software for tracking inventory, shipments, and stock levels.
  • Prepare regular reports on warehouse activities, such as inventory levels, stock movements, and performance metrics.
  • Any other reasonable duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within a warehouse or distribution centre environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
  • Sound knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management software (WMS) and proficiency in using relevant computer applications.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices within a warehouse setting.
  • Flexibility to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues across departments.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to stock handling.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Additional certification or training in inventory management is a plus.
