Are you looking for a fulfilling career working with children who have Special Needs?

GSL are currently recruiting an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our special needs Secondary school in Havant. This school caters for boys aged 11-16 who have social, emotional and mental health difficulties as well as other complex needs.

Students’ needs are met in a small, nurturing environment with a highly differentiated curriculum. The school prioritises a wide range of extra-curricular activities designed to enhance wider learning opportunities.

There is a strong emphasis on practical subjects and enriching the curriculum through activities such as fishing, cycling, horse riding, sailing, visits to places of interest and numerous types of sporting activities, including fixtures and tournaments with other schools.

Your responsibilities as a Teaching Assistant may include:

-            Working with small groups of KS3 and 4 boys, through targeted interventions, to ensure all students reach their full potential.

-            Creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where each child can flourish.

-            Supporting teachers in assessing student progress and providing informative feedback to pupils.

-            Supporting children with strategies to regulate their emotions effectively.

-            Safeguarding will be your number one priority, ensuring the welfare of the children.

To work with GSL Education as a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant, you should: 
 

  • Have the right to work in the UK. 
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years. 
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
