Location: Northampton

DHL, award winning leading supply chain business is seeking a Warehouse Shift Manager to play a vital role coordinating our daily logistics requirements. To succeed in this role, you should have a comprehensive knowledge of supply chain management practices and a demonstrative understanding of warehouse procedures, including the storage and dispatch of volume orders and goods.

WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?

Role Purpose:

To maximise the performance of depot operations on a shift basis to meet client and DHL requirements through effective direction, resource planning, meaningful and regular communication at all levels, and ongoing training and development as required. Ensure that the operation complies with all legal, corporate and customer requirements for safety, quality, service delivery and cost at all times. Constantly review all aspects of shift performance, identifying areas for improvement, best practice etc and take responsibility for developing these into CI / change programmes with buy-in of relevant stakeholders for support and specialist knowledge

WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?

Requirements:

Experience of working within a complex supply chain environment - essential Experience of working within a fast moving food Retail supply chain environment - desirable Demonstrable record of delivering against targets for own area of responsibility Demonstrable record of leading change management projects with particular focus on site culture Demonstrable record of using Process Improvement techniques, CAPA etc to resolve operational issues Demonstrable record of building and developing teams, driving high performance and engaging with colleagues at all levels Self motivated individual able to demonstrate ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as on own initiative Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

Qualifications/Certificates:

High school / secondary education - essential Project management (PM101, Prince2) - desirable Initiative Champion / PIA trained (DMAIC) - desirable Efficient Warehouse Practices trained - desirable Finance for Non Finance Managers - essential First Choice Leader trained - desirable

A recognised qualification in Supply Chain Management or Logistics will be preferred and well received.
