About Us
Our school is a vibrant and inclusive educational institution committed to ensuring a smooth transition for our students as they progress from primary to secondary education. We are looking for a dedicated and empathetic Temporary Support Worker to assist our new Year 7 students during their initial half-term, helping them settle into their new school environment.
Role and Responsibilities
As a Temporary Support Worker, you will:
- Provide one-on-one and group support to Year 7 students, focusing on those who may find the transition challenging.
- Assist in the development and implementation of transition plans and activities.
- Support students in navigating their new school environment, including understanding the timetable, finding classrooms, and using school facilities.
- Help students establish new routines and build confidence in their new setting.
- Foster a supportive and welcoming atmosphere, addressing any anxieties or concerns students may have.
- Work closely with teachers, parents, and other staff to ensure a coordinated approach to each student’s transition.
- Monitor and report on student progress and well-being, providing feedback to relevant staff members.
Requirements
- Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an educational setting.
- Understanding of the challenges associated with transitioning from primary to secondary school.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting young people.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, or a related field are desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
