Main duties of the job

You will need to an innovator who is motivated to support the ongoing transformation of children's mental health services. These roles are required to develop, refine, and implement the overarching clinical strategic vision for the services, which includes promoting best clinical practice, and working towards clear, achievable, and measurable co-produced objectives for the service. You will provide clinical leadership sharing a portfolio with other senior clinicians and working closely with the Director and Deputy Director of CAMHS and Children's services, Deputy Director of Psychological Professions, and Assistant Directors. Also working alongside peers within NELFT to ensure parity of provision for Children and Young People in our services.

About us

Starting with NELFT NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

Probationary Period This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

High Cost Area Supplement - London

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,108 and a maximum payment of £5,177 per annum pro rata).

Job responsibilities

You need to have a post-graduate psychological practitioner qualification ( Clinical / Counselling Psychologist, Family Therapist, Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist; Cognitive Behavioural Therapist). You will require strategic understanding and excellent communication skills to develop effective relationships with key partners, including the ICB, local authority, GPs, voluntary sector organisations, and other statutory agencies. You will have extensive clinical and operational leadership experience across CAMHS to support the teams, acting as an effective team member whilst working on your own initiative. You will be responsible for the overall clinical supervision structure of qualified staff. You will have a commitment to collaborative working and actively supporting and liaising with other health and social care professionals and agencies.
