International Advocacy Coordinator

About the role
The role will support the growing Policy and Advocacy Team in delivery of Climate Group’s Advocacy Strategy reporting to the Senior Manager, International Advocacy.
The International Advocacy Coordinator will be an integral part of coordinating, delivering, and reporting on projects and convenings that help to deliver on our International Advocacy Plan.
The key projects and initiatives covered by the International Advocacy Plan include:
Supporting the delivery of the recently announced Coalition for High Ambition Multi-Level Partnership (CHAMP) for climate action, in Climate Group’s capacity as partners to the coalition. This includes work in geographies such as South Korea and United States. Coordination of engagement with International Climate Politics Hub through ensuring timely inputs into briefings and management of Climate Group’s Participation in number of Working Groups. Management of delivery of monthly International Advocacy webinars to state and regional governments of Under2 Coalition. Involvement in Local Governments and Municipal Authorities Constituency to UNFCCC and support in delivering objectives of selected number of its working groups.The post holder will perform a wide range of activities spanning from supporting internal project management to organising virtual and in-person meetings, providing on the ground support of events, and producing written briefings and materials.
Key responsibilities will include:
Support project management of CHAMP national engagement strategy for South Korea; Coordination and organisation of monthly International Advocacy Webinars to state and regional governments of Under2 Coalition; Being a main point of contact for advocacy related enquires, escalating as required. Managing calendar requests and representation of Climate Group across a number of external working groups that help to deliver on advocacy objectives; Collecting information about NDC involvement from subnational governments; Representing Climate Group at ad hoc meetings to take notes and report back to Senior Manager; Support the organisation of key events led by Policy and Advocacy team; Ad-hoc administrative activities as required by the team.

We are looking for a dynamic individual with a strong interest in growing their skillset in international climate advocacy and use their engagement and entrepreneurship skills to help the team in coordination and delivery of our Advocacy Strategy both internally and with external stakeholders.

This is a fixed-term 12-month position with the possibility of renewal. The salary offered is £24, to £25, per annum, based on experience.
