London, United Kingdom The Crown Estate Full time

Are you passionate about unravelling the intricacies of performance measurement? Do you thrive on providing strategic insights that drive impactful decisions? If so, we invite you to join our dynamic team at The Crown Estate.

Purpose of Role:

As a Senior Analyst (Real Estate Valuation), your primary mission is to be an active business partner. You’ll delve into the valuation and performance drivers of The Crown Estate, both for internal and external reporting. Your analysis will shape critical decisions, and your constructive challenges will elevate our performance.

Role Definition:

In this role, you’ll wear many hats:

  • Valuation Coordination: You’ll orchestrate external valuations for The Crown Estate’s impressive £14 billion assets under management. Your meticulous data provision, result auditing, and key output reporting will guide our leadership team and Audit Committee.
  • MSCI Relationship: You’ll own our relationship with MSCI, reporting on quarterly and annual total return benchmarks. Your holistic portfolio performance analysis will empower directors and their teams, aligning with our Value Creation Framework.
  • Strategic Modelling: Support our long-term strategy by modelling capital forecasts. Translate complex themes into clear visualisations for the Board, ensuring informed decision-making.
  • Data Evolution: Drive the evolution of our data and reporting processes. Collaboration and decision support are your watchwords.
  • Insightful Analysis: Provide financial, tenancy, and leasing statistics for Group Leadership Team reporting. Dive into retrospective analyses of past investments and development projects, presenting data to the Board.
  • Industry Trends: Stay ahead of the curve by researching industry trends and sharing relevant insights with colleagues.
  • Valuation Expertise: Understand valuation movements and portfolio performance drivers. Communicate these insights to colleagues, especially in our quarterly valued commercial portfolios.
  • Data Integrity: Coordinate valuation uploads into our internal property management systems, ensuring data integrity.
  • Audit Support: Assist with external audit processes, providing critical information and analysis.
  • Long-Term Forecasting: Enhance our long-term forecasting by informing assumptions and conducting scenario analyses.

Knowledge, Experience, and Skills:

  • RICS qualified professional with post-qualification experience, ideally from a valuation firm or real estate-focused commercial finance role.
  • Proficiency in Argus Enterprise.
  • Solid understanding of the UK property market and its economic fundamentals.
  • Experience in complex reporting and insightful portfolio performance analysis.
  • Excel modelling skills, adept at handling large datasets.
  • Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, and Anaplan (a plus).
  • Portfolio analysis techniques knowledge (not essential).

Capabilities:

  • Curiosity about emerging property-related themes and a readiness to engage externally.
  • Proactive, results-oriented, and deadline-driven.
  • Attention to detail, considering broader business impacts.
  • Customer-focused service delivery, building trusted relationships across financial and non-financial teams.
  • Be an external ambassador for The Crown Estate, actively engaging with consultants and business partners.

Join us in shaping the future of The Crown Estate.
