Your Team and the Role:

As a C++ Software Engineer you will join our Shield Control Team. Shield Control own and develop a collection of high-integrity apps which act as the final layer of defence for:

  • Collision avoidance
  • Handling component failures

In an ideal world, such a layer wouldn't need to exist. However, in the real world, we have to be able to handle anything. For example:

  • An object falling out of the back of a moving vehicle ahead
  • A tyre bursting due to poor maintenance
  • A person running out from behind a parked car.

The role will involve:

  • Developing and reviewing C++ code for Shield Control apps and tooling
  • Diagnosing and fixing bugs
  • Learning from robotics and C++ experts in the team and the wider Oxa community

      • Knowledge practice of safety standards (e.g. ISO 26262, MISRA C++:2023, ASPICE)
      • Robotics domain knowledge (e.g. ROS)
      • Expertise in modern C++ template meta-programming
      • Skilled at control systems design
      • Adept at creating software for resource constrained environments
