TeamJobs are looking for a Legal Assistant to join a well establish law firm based in Bournemouth.

This exciting role offers the successful candidate the opportunity to join the companies growing Property Department to become an integral part of the organisation, providing a high standard of administrative support and client hospitality.

The position is fully office-based in Bournemouth and reports to the Head of Department.

The salary for this role is £26k DOE.

This role involves:

  • Acting as a first point of contact, dealing effectively and efficiently with daily enquiries, ensuring a positive client experience
  • Developing new, and building upon existing, client relationships
  • Setting up and maintaining legal files and effectively managing all correspondence
  • Maintaining all case files to a high standard and in accordance with SRA requirements, the Law Society protocol and the LEXCEL quality mark requirements
  • Coordinating appointments, including all correspondence and logistics
  • Ensuring that the data is accurately entered and managed within the company's database management system
  • Assisting with cases as appropriate and under supervision by the fee earner
  • General administrative support including drafting letters and other documentation, supporting with archiving and file retrieval and ordering supplies
  • Assisting with billing and dealing with money received, as directed
  • Assisting in training of new colleagues as appropriate

What we require from you:

  • A high degree of IT literacy, particularly with MS Office and ideally with experience of using electronic case management systems
  • Knowledge of property law process would be an advantage
  • Previous experience and / or a keen interest in working in a law firm or legal department
  • Proven administrative experience and a keen eye for detail
  • Must have GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English is a minimum
  • A business or administrative qualification to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent is an advantage

The successful candidate must be flexible and motivated, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. A strong team player who has the ability to work independently as well. You must be resilient and highly organised in a busy working environment.
