An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Forensic Healthcare Service for a full-time Band 3 Senior Clinical Support Worker to join the friendly team at The Chichester Centre, a Low Secure Mental Health unit comprising of three wards, two male and one female, located in Chichester, West Sussex.

Sussex Partnership Forensic Healthcare Services provide a comprehensive service for mentally-disordered patients across the forensic care pathway, both in a secure environment and through case management in the community.

We are looking for a friendly, approachable and hardworking professional with a passion for delivering high quality care. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to effective team working; have excellent communication skills and experience of mental health nursing. Main duties of the job

To work with the multi-disciplinary team to establish and deliver a therapeutic programme of care for clients.

To undertake a range of delegated clinical health duties in mental health settings.

Job responsibilities

Provide and receive information from clients, clients representatives and immediate team colleagues. Exchange factual information to clients using persuasion, reassurance, tact and empathy. Overcome barriers to understanding that may be a result of mental illness.

Undertake procedures and practices that will require a base level of theoretical knowledge, knowledge of health and related procedures, clinical observations and the Mental Health Act.

Assess a patients condition through basic test results, assess comfort of the patient and instigate emergency procedures.

Plan and organise own day-to-day work tasks and activities.
