Accountant II

MW Partners is currently seeking a Accountantto work for our client who is a leader in the media andentertainment industry.

Responsibilities and duties:

• Populate monthly financial reporting schedulesand provide to Planning
• Analyze actuals vs.forecast (Budget / Estimate) and explain fluctuations
• Analyze fringe balances and prepare quarterly fringeaccruals based on the latest estimates
• Prepareannual multiemployer pension project
• Preparecorporate cost allocations
• Prepare invoicesfor charges to Viacom
• Prepare and park monthlyand quarterly journal entries and accruals as required
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts related tooverhead
• Clear conversion accounts ensuringthey net to zero
• Clear suspense/clearingaccounts (including payroll and T&E) ensuring they net tozero
• Balancing of financial systems
• Validate Quarterly and YTD Earnings Books
• Prepare Quarterly Balance Sheet File for PlanningTeam
• Assist with audit requests
• Backup for Capital Acquisition/Disposal forms initialreview
• Backup Aviation Department
• Produce other ad hoc reporting and manage specialprojects as assigned

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting required
• Strong (and current) technical knowledge of USGAAP
• Minimum of 3 years of accountingexperience
• IntermediateAdvanced skills inExcel
• Proficiency in MS Word
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Detailedoriented
• Excellent written& oral communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to communicate with all levels of companypersonnel
• Ability to work in a teamorientedenvironment
• Ability to handle multiple taskssimultaneously prioritize workload efficiently and meet strictdeadlines
• Selfstarter with ability toproactively identify issues perform research and proposeresolutions
• Previous experience in theEntertainment Industry
• Previous experiencewith Hyperion (Essbase/Smartview) and SAP desired
