Job Description

Reporting to the Product Support Manager, you will be working closely with other cross-functional teams you will also have an opportunity to contribute to product improvement and new product development, ensuring your expertise and feedback from the customer are considered via our product improvement processes and new product development. You will also play an important role in supporting the project management and engineering teams in developing technical procedures and training material for our core products and custom projects.

About The Role

·         Provide product support to dealers and customers globally.

·         Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve problems and breakdowns remotely.

·         Support our Astec Technical Assistance Centres (ATAC) around the world.

·         Work closely with other departments to develop and document solutions to problems.

·         Engage with our new product development team to help us deliver the most robust and reliable machinery for our customers.

·         Support Quality Improvement Team (QIT) efforts to rapidly identify root cause and resolve manufacturing, assembly, and design related issues.

·         Develop technical content and administer technical training to customers and dealers as required.

·         Support all Health and Safety Policies and Regulations, ensuring safe working practices at all times.

·         Occasional travel to customer sites around the world to support with problems, commissioning, and training of our products.

Desired Criteria

  • Field service experience around plant / machinery
  • Experience working within the Materials Processing or Crushing and Screening industry.
  • Manufacturing/fabrication experience.
  • AC electrical qualification/experience.
  • Educated to Third Level (HND or above) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Strong mechanical, electrical & hydraulic aptitude.
  • Ability to read and understand electric/hydraulic schematics.
  • Technically minded with excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Interpersonal skills to work within a team, as well as on your own initiative.
  • Confident attitude and ability to articulate in meetings.
  • Strong computer and IT systems skills.
  • Available and willing to travel on occasions.
  • Ability to work effectively with a range of diversified cultures.
  • Hold a valid clean driver’s license and passport.
