Work with the Head of ADS and other key stakeholders to gather and understand the detailed requirements of a given project. Provide line management for the members of the development team. Oversee and support the work of the development team, ensuring they have sufficiently detailed and documented requirements. Work with the Head of ADS and other key stakeholders to manage the competing priorities and demands made of the team’s finite resource. Continuously review and improve the team’s processes. Work with the team to estimate resource requirements and derive target delivery dates across a number of projects. Perform initial reviews of work completed, providing detailed feedback to team members, setting clear expectations of the quality of work required. Assist in the development of test plans and liaise with stakeholders to collect feedback from wider testing efforts and ensure any rework is appropriately managed. Communicate target dates, progress, and the likelihood of any changes to target delivery dates, to key stakeholders in a timely fashion. Work with the team to regularly review and document the team’s processes. Being responsible for maintaining technical documentation where appropriate, and work with the team and other stakeholders to produce end-user guidance and training materials. Provide an efficient and responsive customer focused service.

About You

You will be an enthusiastic, proactive and hardworking professional You will have experience of managing software development teams You will have excellent technical knowledge and organisational skills You will be comfortable working flexibly, with great attention to detail to produce reliable, high-quality solutions You will have experience using software development lifecycle tools, technologies and environments used within software engineering (Jira and Azure DevOps desirable) You will have experience in working with teams to deliver business software, especially web-based applications You will enjoy sharing knowledge and helping other, more junior members of the team. You will have working knowledge of principles, practices and methods of the software development lifecycle You will have the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels
