Job summary

StTeresa's Hospice, Darlington is seeking experienced Healthcare Assistants tojoin our clinical bank team, working with patients in their own homes and inour InPatient Unit.

Bankhours, St Teresa's Hospice Band 3, £ per hour.

Successfulcandidates will:

Holdan NVQ/QCF Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care, or have anequivalent qualification or equivalent experience. Beavailable to cover long day and night shifts on IPU and morning and evening andnight shifts on Community Hospice, during the week and at weekends. Towork in Community Hospice you must beable to travel for work on a day to day basis using own transport, includingcarrying a passenger and equipment (business use insurance to be arranged byworker at their expense).

Thisis a casual/bank appointment with no guaranteed hours of work, and noobligation on the worker to accept work when offered. An induction and ongoingtraining will be provided.

Main duties of the job

To work as a member of thenursing and multi-disciplinary team delivering care and giving support topatients with palliative care needs and their families, within patients ownhomes and in the hospice. Working in close collaboration with the DistrictNurses, GPs, Macmillan nurses, the Foundation Trust & other hospiceservices ensuring patient choice at the end of life.

Willingness to work acrossall Hospice services, as required

Job responsibilities

To work as a member of the nursing and multidisciplinary team delivering care and giving support to patients with palliative care needs and their families, within patients own homes and in the hospice.
