Ward Clerk

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has opened up for a part time ( hours) Ward Clerk at Rochdale Infirmary which is part of the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust.

You will provide administrative support to function within the multi disciplinary team on the Same Day Emergency Care Unit (SDEC) to ensure a smooth patient journey and safe patient experience.

Main duties of the job

You will provide a wide range of clerical and administrative duties to the unit staff andbe responsible for the safe keeping and availability of all clinical records.

You will provide general support to the unit staff to ensure the smooth and safe running of the unit. You will need good communication and IT skills and to be able to work under pressure.

Essential

To work flexibly as a member of a team and be willing to offer support to colleagues. To deal effectively with people at all levels from a broad range of organisations. Good written and verbal communication skills. Good interpersonal skills dealing with enquiries in person and by telephone.

Knowledge, Training & Experience

Essential

High degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines, prioritising and organising your workload where appropriate

Previous experience of working in a health care setting

Qualifications

Essential

Good knowledge and experience of PC based applications (ie Microsoft Office). Achievement of National Care Certificate (or willingness to complete).
