Mechanical Project Engineer

Responsibilities:
Develop an understanding of the specific mechanical engineering requirements per project Study and become familiar with the elementary system drawings Conveyor manifests Engineering hours estimate Project contract requirements and options Provide technical interface with customer’s project representative(s) Project scope definitions Contract change orders Customer specifications / standards. 3D model reviews Develop and maintain a mechanical engineering schedule that provides timely delivery of material to fully support an installation schedule. Firm grasp of project contract documents including clarifications and exceptions. Execute the project within the budget and hours in the contract estimate. Provide technical support for vendors, field installation personnel, and engineering subcontractors as related to inquiries Support weekly meetings with project team members and customers Delegate and monitor tasks given to engineering team members on regular cadence Maintain project-specific requirements while applying general knowledge of conveying systems, conveying equipment and customer general specifications and standards Interpret and ensure compliance with customer specifications. Communicate project specific information with other departments Release drawings for installation and fabrication Create material purchase requests Relate information regarding changes to scope of work for the project as they occur. Communicate status updates to engineering management on a regular cadence Be cognoscente of areas for professional development, cost reduction, quality improvements and enhanced customer service. Check drawings provided by mechanical designers for accuracy and provide feedback for corrections as needed. Perform or assist in directing engineering analysis as determined by project needsRequired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Works well in a schedule-driven environment Read, understand, and apply customer specifications Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and co-workers Above-average interpersonal skills Ability to organize and prioritize a variety of tasks in an effective and timely manner, organize your own work, participate in setting priorities, and meet critical time deadlines Understand and practice good time management Ability to multi-task and work on more than one project at a single time Experience with Microsoft Office, such as Outlook and Excel are required Familiar with AutoCAD and Inventor, Navisworks, and BIM is a plus Experience with Microsoft Project is a plusEducation and Experience:
Three to Five years of material handling equipment experience preferably within the conveyor systems industry Experience with executing and support medium to large projects Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in mechanical engineering and designTravel Requirements:
Some international travel required +/- 15%. Depends on project needs and urgency
