A Day in the Life

As a Current and Custom Design Technician at Sunseeker International, you will assist in the design of bespoke projects to deliver customer special requests. Your work will span from modelling components through the full process to producing fully resolved drawings to be issues into the Sunseeker production lines.

Working as a Current and Custom Design Technician will involve a strong bias to DfM (Design for Manufacturing) projects.

As a loose guide, your responsibilities may include;

  • Producing production drawings using Siemens NX 3D design software and Autocad 2D;
  • Modelling and draughting all aspects of yacht design, including interior specials, exteriors, concepts, construction, electrical and systems;
  • Collaborating with CVF/Sales to deliver design solutions to suit often bespoke needs;
  • Ensuring that parts of the project can be populated into SAP, which is in turn then used to populate the bill of materials;
  • Supporting other design disciplines with DCR’s during downtime between customer specials and Production Engineering where possible.
