About us

We are looking for an excellent project manager to drive and coordinate the development, delivery and evaluation of our innovative and inspiring programmes of work within the Southampton Academy of Research (SoAR).

WHAT YOULL DOProvide project management support to the Director and Associate Directors in delivering projects and programmes. Support the pre-project stages (expression of interest and feasibility) up to large-scale projects, scoping new projects including feasibility and business case development. Staff management for matrix project teams ( SoAR project team, SoAR office manager and RLP programme administrator). Support the successful implementation of policy or service changes required as a result of the projects in collaboration with Divisional teams, R&D leads, service managers and heads of professions. Lead on implementation of initiatives and ensure there is an effective handover to business as usual.
What were looking forOur ideal candidate will have:
A masters degree or equivalent specialist knowledge and experience Knowledge and practical experience in the management and successful delivery of the full project lifecycle (including pre-project phases) of medium-sized projects. Knowledge of how to identify complex project risks and issues and develop detailed mitigation strategies Experience in working with a range of different stakeholders in university and healthcare organisational contexts is advantageous, but not essential Knowledge and experience in managing projects in the field of health-related education, training and R&D is advantageous, but not essential
Your project management skills will underpin our ability to support career development and training in health research for a wide range of healthcare professionals including nurses, doctors, midwives, allied health professionals, clinical scientists and pharmacists.
