An introduction to TfW Fibre LTD

At TfW Fibre LTD we aim to offer Groundbreaking full fibre connectivity solutions in areas along the Core Valleys Lines, providing large capacity bandwidth solutions that will improve access to hard-to-reach areas.

Through partnerships with ISPs and mobile operators, we can help our customers receive the broadband and mobile services enjoyed by so much of the rest of the country.

We strive to grow and evolve to continue to connect people to one another, bind communities together and enable businesses to grow and expand.

Our innovative fibre optic network will provide next generation connectivity right to the heart of the Core Valley Lines (CVL) communities we serve, bringing investment and opportunities to local economies.

Role responsibilities

To be an independent Non-Executive Director on the TfW Fibre Ltd Board of directors, providing the board with responsibility for advising senior management on the strategic direction and management of the company, with a particular technical expertise in the telecoms industry and technology-led programmes.

· Provide strategic oversight by giving insight and advice to the board on technical aspects of fibre optic infrastructure deployment, network design, and technology innovation in the telecommunications industry to enable the business to meet its ambition and maximise the value and effectiveness of fibre optic assets.

· Provide technical oversight by using an in-depth knowledge and experience in telecoms technology, including fibre optic networks, broadband technologies, and network infrastructure, to inform decision-making and problem-solving.

· Provide oversight to business and technological innovation by staying abreast of industry developments, emerging technologies, and best practices to ensure the company remains at the forefront of technical innovation and competitiveness.

Who we’re looking for

· Extensive track record of delivering across complex and multifaceted, technology -led programmes.

· Knowledge and understanding of the telecoms industry and the role of government market interventions.

· Demonstrable communication skills, including an ability to offer challenges in a constructive, straightforward, and open manner, as well as acting as an external ambassador for TfW Fibre.

· Previous experience as a company director or senior executive.

· Demonstrable experience of occupying a recent senior role within the telecommunications industry.

· In-depth knowledge of fibre telecommunications.

Welsh Language Skills

The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.

TfW Fibre Ltd supports and promotes the use of the Welsh Language by employees and will encourage them to develop, improve and maintain their Welsh Language skills. We fully support our people who want to improve their Welsh language skills, and personal development for Welsh Language skills are offered in a variety of ways such as online learning, classroom courses and funding attendance at local community courses.
