Supervised Contact Worker - Casual

The Contact Service is a part of The Corporate Parenting Service for AfC/ Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, and we offer supervised family time sessions for families from convenient locations within the borough with the Primrose Centre being the central point.

We aim to provide a safe and welcoming environment for family time sessions to take place and support both children and parents through these sessions, recognising that it can be a stressful time. We provide high-quality reports on the sessions and develop a strong relationship with referring agencies by providing an efficient and responsive service. Safeguarding is a top priority, and we are committed to ensuring the safety of the children and young people using our service.

This is a casual position so will be paid on an hourly basis, the hourly rate pay range is £12.65 - £14.29.

About the role

The Supervised Contact Worker will be responsible for the supervision of family time sessions between children in care and the significant people in their lives as outlined by the allocated social worker.

This also includes:

Being responsible for the production of comprehensive and well written reports on each session in line with the approved format and stipulated timescales, so that they are fit to present as evidence in care proceedings. If required, they may need to present verbal evidence in court. Preparing for sessions, by ensuring familiarisation with the contact agreement, the identity and status of those due to attend the session and the location of the session. Ensuring that the adults attending the session with the children keep to the agreement so that children have a safe and positive experience. If at any time the adults’ behaviour is assessed as being harmful to the child/children, the worker will need to end the session in accordance with the agreed protocol.

About you

To be a successful Supervised Contact Worker, you need to: 

Be educated to GCSE level C or above (or equivalent) in Mathematics and English. Have a commitment to take a proactive approach to meeting the needs of children, young people and families, being always approachable and helpful. Have strong organisational abilities including time management, creative-thinking, problem-solving and multitasking.
