What will you be doing?

Reporting to the Logistics & Procurement Manager as part of the Logistics Team, you will contribute towards the overall achievement of Bristol Water’s Procurement and Logistics strategy.

The Standpipe/Logistics Administrator will be responsible for billing customers for hire, water charges and any other associated charges of standpipes.

The function is responsible for the provision of hired standpipes to local and national clients working within the Bristol Water Supply area. Standpipes are required by a wide variety of customers including Wessex Water, Bristol City and South Gloucestershire Council, the construction industry, drain maintenance, landscaping and gardening companies, street cleaning and the water tanker industry.

Event organisers also require standpipes for domestic and non-domestic events throughout our supply district, including  food and drink events, local sporting events, the Weston Sand Sculpture Festival and the Weston Beach Race to name a few.

Day to day you’ll be…

  • Producing on hire and consumption data as and when required
  • Receive standpipe payments cheque/credit card/cash and arrange for account payments as and when required.
  • Complete on/off hire information and forms as and when required.
  • Monitor Standpipe Hire inbox and answer calls
  • Creation and maintenance of customer records
  • Cover for raising adhoc or urgent invoices for standpipe hire, water consumption, damage and any other relevant standpipe related charges when required
  • Resolution of queries with Billing person and or customer as required

What we’re looking for...

  • Experience in a customer facing admin role
  • Excellent customer experience
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office, particularly excel
  • Working knowledge of SAP and SRM would be advantageous
  • Self motivated and decisive.
  • Highly numerate with the ability to analyse problems and seek solutions in a structured way.
  • A highly motivated, flexible, reliable person who can work independently or as an integral team member.
  • Problem solving
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels.
  • Personal effectiveness
