We currently have an opportunity for Process and Industrial Engineer- Repair and Finishing, you will be working with development of new and improvement of existing repair and finishing processes in wind turbine blade production including repairs to remove defects, specifying methods and tooling, finishing and introduction of equipment.

As a Process and Industrial Engineer specialised in repairs and finishing, you will be responsible for providing solutions for process related issues and supporting the blade factory in optimising their manufacturing processes. The department is responsible for the development, specification, qualification and optimisation of production methodology and equipment in order to support manufacturing. The role will be required technical knowledge on working with composite materials and repairs. As a repair and finishing specialist, you will be responsible for leading and implementing process improvements to reduce the Repair Index, time and improve quality of blades.

Some of your key tasks will include but not be limited to:

Your main focus areas will be to develop the right solutions for restoration of geometry in blade manufacturing and supporting repairs to lead implementation and standardisation of manufacturing processes and equipment

Benchmarking application methods/levels in the industry

Implementing new production processes at production plant

Supporting production in fault finding, trouble shooting and recommendation of repair methods

Actively engage in process optimizations and development and support in implement of process design updates in running production solutions and geometry restoration of wind turbine blades

Responsible for the development and specification of processes, materials and equipment

Responsible for testing and qualification of processes, equipment and materials.

Responsible for documentation of processes in collaboration with the documentation department and global process owners

Definition of process specifications and associated control issues

Coordinate the development and deployment of new pre-manufacturing processes as necessary to support the manufacturing area

Initiate and lead LEAN projects

Plan processes, workflow, and accident prevention measures to maintain optimum and safe utilisation of plant resources

Anticipate issues with process and material implementation and provide timely feedback and information to employees as appropriate

Compile Excel and power BI reports as necessary to communicate to peers and management

What do I need to qualify for this job?

Ideally Degree qualified in Production/Mechanical/Chemical Engineering or HNC and significant experience

Significant experience directly related in designing and improving work processes in a manufacturing environment

Experience of managing equipment and manufacturing process projects in a manufacturing environment

Significant experience of working with composite materials

Experience of creating work instructions, risk assessments and technical documentation.

An understanding or experience of Lean Manufacturing processes

Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Prior experience successfully initiating, implementing, and executing change initiatives in a production/manufacturing environment

Prior experience coordinating people and processes within a manufacturing environment.

Ability to coach and train others in the field of continuous improvement

Highly developed analytical and conceptual skills

Strong presentation skills with the ability to inspire and motivate
