The ideal applicant will be an auditor with a high level of knowledge of operations in academies with experience around business management, operations and/or finance.  The role will be responsible for the development of audit assurance covering statutory and non-statutory duties, governance, financial stewardship, risk management and the internal control environment.  The role will be the contact point for all education clients as well as overseeing quality assurance, audit planning, delivery and supporting audit colleagues in their development. There will also be an opportunity to contribute to the development of our risk assurance processes.

The postholder must have adequate experience of school operations to be able to lead the team, effectively interact with education colleagues and demonstrate excellent negotiation skills.  They must also have a proven track record in delivering proactive, organised and professional work and demonstrate the required wider understanding of the education sector.  The ability to demonstrate school based forward-thinking with experience of management, development of colleagues, have good knowledge of education operations as well as familiarity and understanding of the Academy Trust Handbook or strong knowledge of maintained school processes and procedures would be a distinct advantage.

Lincolnshire County Council has a flexible working policy, which includes themes such as a flexitime approach, condensed hours, as well as initiatives such as buying additional leave, corporate discounts and a generous pension scheme.  We operate a hybrid approach to working, which is a mix of working from home and the office.  The expectation is that staff are in the office or on site at least once per week.

The role is based in Lincoln and the successful candidate will be expected to work across our Lincolnshire based clients.  A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential.
