We are looking for someone to join our enthusiastic and motivated Emergency Department to start ASAP.
Working in the ED with direct shop floor supervision from our 11 consultants. The post offers protected weekly departmental teaching and benefits from educational supervision by a consultant as well as many other educational opportunities on shift.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide clinical, administrative, supervisory, educational and training support for the day-to-day functioning of the department. The purpose of the post is to ensure that the highest quality of care is provided to each individual patient who attends the Emergency Department. The prime responsibility of the post holder will be clinical cover of the shop floor. A full shift system is operational to cover the department on a 24-hour basis. The post holder will be expected to participate fully in this rota. Further duties include the provision of GP letters within 24 hours of the patient presenting in the department, teaching, participation in Medical Audit and designated management commitments as agreed with the Clinical Supervisor.

MBBS or equivalent FRCS, MRCS or equivalent qualification Full registration with the General Medical Council and a valid licence to practise with the General Medical Council

Broadly based Medical, Surgical & EM experience Knowledge and experience of communicating bad news Knowledge and participation in CPD Knowledge of UK hospital systems Experience and knowledge of critical appraisal of evidence so as to improve clinical outcomes Understanding of the current structure of the National Health Service Clinical Governance principles Demonstrates the underpinning subject-specific competencies relevant to the role setting and scope.
