Privacy Hub is seeking an enthusiastic andmeticulous UKbased data scientist to join our growing team whichinterrogates and assesses client information in terms of thereidentification risk to patients. The primary responsibilities ofthe role are to process and analyze large healthrelated datasetsand contribute to the subsequent preparation of associatedreports.

YouWill:

  • Developexpertise in healthcare data privacy from a quantitative andregulatory perspective.
  • Use programmatic toolsto analyze data and explore hypotheses.
  • Contribute to engineering workflows and productdevelopment that automate repeatable components of ananalysis.
  • Research emerging areas of patientprivacy such as genomics data and the implications of newregulations.

What YouWill Bring to the Table:

  • Relevant university degree or equivalent training and 2years of work experience as a data scientist or dataengineer.
  • Expertise with SQL and either Python(preferred) or R with strong coding skills and annotationprotocols.
  • Expertise in the manipulationintegration processing and interrogation of largedatasets.
  • Developed skills in the applicationof scientific methods to practical problems through experimentaldesign exploratory data analysis and hypothesis testing to reachrobust conclusions.
  • Strong understanding ofstatistical probability distributions bias error and power as wellas sampling and resampling methods.
  • Exceptional initiative and ability to independentlyproblem solve seek help when needed and take ownership whennavigating ambiguity.
  • Excellent communicationskills both in short and long form writing and speaking.
  • Welldeveloped time management skills and demonstrableexperience of prioritizing work to meet tight deadlines for clientdeliverables.

Nice tohave:

  • An appreciationof the need for effective methods in data privacy and security andan awareness of the relevant legislation.
  • Experience with cloud services for storage andcomputing.
  • Experience with machine learningalgorithms.
  • Detailed knowledge of one or moretypes of health information such as genomics or medicalimaging.
