Job summary

We are looking for a Band 6 to cover maternity leave to work in Plain Film, CT and CBCT and to rotate in the Sussex Community Hospitals. We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed and patient focused radiographer to support the Radiology department.

Please note this is a fixed term contract and it is not suitable for overseas applicants.

Main duties of the job

The role will rotate through general, CT and CBCT whilst being supported by experienced radiographers.

When the successful candidate is fully competent there is an expectation to participate in the On call Rota.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Be able to use the full range of radiographic equipment within the departments including general, mobile, CBCT, and fluoroscopy To work as part of a professional radiography team providing a high quality diagnostic service To maintain a sensitive and courteous approach to all patients To develop and improve professional expertise via continuous professional development To maintain a safe working environment within the departments Clinically supervise and train Student Radiographers during Hospital placements Maintain the highest professional standards as set out by the Health Professions Council

The successful applicant once fully trained, will be expected to produce high quality diagnostic images as per the department protocols and policies.

Qualifications

Essential

DCR (Diploma of the College of radiographers) or BSC (Bachelor of Science) Degree in Diagnostic Radiography or able to demonstrate specialist knowledge within this field through practical experience Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration

Desirable

Certificate in Intravenous (IV) Cannulation

Experience

Essential

At least 1 years Band 5 experience Experience of working unsupervised Awareness of clinical governance issues in relation to patient care

Desirable

MRI/CT experience Experience of training staff and students
